Westchester County Airport Noise Decreases Significantly

Current community noise exposure levels, when compared to 1988 conditions show some significant decreases (see noise study below).

The reduction is directly attributed to the replacement of older Stage 2 jets by airlines and corporate operators with quieter Stage 3 jets. Additionally, projections predict a slight but continued decrease noise levels.

Local aviation operators take great pride in these reductions, since it has been the direct result of their significant investment in capital, training, and updated procedures. This noise reduction success is an outstanding demonstration of the good citizenship of our local aviation community.
