ENVIRONMENTAL
The aviation community has achieved a 41% reduction in the noise footprint around HPN since 1988. The noise footprint is forecast to continue to decrease through 2007. This decrease is due to tremendous investment in new quieter aircraft, improved training of airman and good citizenship by local aviators & companies in avoiding operations during the overnight hours as much as possible. This effort has been recognized by Westchester County in their annual awards ceremony to the community.
The aviation community has collaborated with the Airport Environmental Management Office to help achieve ISO certification in 2004.
